Dolly Wells stars alongside a stellar line up in the BBC’s new adaptation of Jules Verne’s novel, Around the World in 80 Days.
The new show stars Dolly Wells as Estella, with David Tennant (Dr Who) as Phileas Fogg and Leonie Benesch (The Crown) as Abigail Fortescue. The show also boasts Jason Watkins (Nativity!) as Bernard Fortescue, and Ibrahim Koma (Wulu) as Passepartout.
The story follows Phileas Fogg, an eighteenth-Century gentleman, as he tries to traverse across the globe in a hot air balloon within 80 days.
The Guardian described it as a ‘big, lively and timely adaptation’, whilst the Decider called it ‘an entertaining eight-episode adventure’ that ‘…doesn’t fall into the snoozy traps that most pieces taking place in 19th century Britain do…’.
