Jodhi May stars in brand new Netflix series Transatlantic
The series takes its cue from Julie Orringer’s 2019 novel The Flight Portfolio and is a dramatisation of the real-life adventures of Varian Fry, Mary-Jayne Gold, Albert Hirschman and the Emergency Rescue Committee (ERC), who set out to help over 2,000 refugees escape from the Nazis during World War II.
The show takes place in 1940 in Marseilles following the fall of Paris and sees the ERC saving some of Europe’s greatest artists and intellectuals, including Andre Breton, Hannah Arendt, Marcel Duchamp, Max Ernst, and Marc Chagall. Jodhi will be playing the iconic role of Peggy Guggenheim.
