Samuel Bottomley stars in brand new feature How to Have Sex
At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Molly Manning Walker’s debut feature How to Have Sex was the most talked-about Britigh movie on the Croisette. The film, which follows a group of English teenagers on a post-exams trip to the Greek island town of Malia, earned a long standing ovation at its premiere and later received a sea of strong reviews.
The film tells the story of Tara, a 17-year-old British girl on a post-exams trip to the Greek island town of Malia with her two best friends. It’s a place known for debauchery: drinking, drugs, sex – and the trio arrive fully intending to lean into the mayhem of it all. But for Tara, the boisterous, quirky girl of the group, the trip marks a coming-of-age she’s not yet experienced. She’s still a virgin, and is staring down the barrel of an aimless future: she’s convinced she’s failed her exams, and doesn’t have any professional aspirations. Over the course of the week, her life will change irrevocably, as she’s exposed to circumstances beyond her control that will force her to grow up.
How to Have Sex is released on Mubi on November 3rd.
