Samuel Bottomley stars in new nihilist movie, Sundown alongside Tim Roth, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Iazua Larios, Henry Goodman, and Albertine Kotting McMillan.

A film that follows a rich family on a luxurious holiday, interrupted when they receive a call about their mother dying. Only when they set off to return home to grieve, their Uncle pretends to lose his passport, in favour of sitting on a beach with a beer.

Directed by Michel Franco (New Order), Sundown is a movie of mounting misfortunes with a lead character who responds with nothing but nonchalance.

Under The Radar describes it as ‘as demanding as it is effective and moving. To delve further into its plot here would only spoil a movie that hinges on both ambiguous unpredictability, with menace lurking behind each languid heatwave of its seemingly idyllic setting.’

It received five nominations at Film Festivals, winning one at the El Gouna Film Festival.
