The Wheel of Time is Amazon Prime’s latest offering and promises to be quite the watch.
Kae Alexander stars in a fantasy story of epic proportions alongside it Rosamund Pike – the tale is set in a fantasy world where magic exists, but only some can access it. A woman called Moiraine crosses paths with five young men and women, sparking a dangerous, world-spanning journey.
The series is based on the successful 14-book collection by Robert Jordan of the same name, so there is plenty more story to be told.
Slate Magazine claimed ‘The Wheel of Time isn’t ‘the new Game of Thrones.’ It’s better.’ and we couldn’t agree more. ‘Unlike Game of Thrones, Wheel of Time also sincerely prioritizes representation. Women contain interiority and exist as more than bodies to be violated or damsels to be rescued. The cast is diverse, yet no characters are tokenized or endure suffering as a result of their race. Same-sex relationships are integrated seamlessly into the story, rather than sensationalized.’
